Healing in Christian Science
The members of our church are dedicated to spiritual healing through reliance on God as the source of man's health and well being. The establishment of this denomination is based on these words from our Church Manual: “…a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing.” (Church Manual of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. by Mary Baker Eddy, pg. 17)
Each service is a healing service and we also offer many ways in which to become acquainted with the discovery of spiritual prayer as an effective tool for establishing health, for resolving every type of human challenge, and for individual growth in a clearer understanding of God. These are just some of the resources available for learning more about spiritual healing:
- Written testimonies of healings can be found in the Christian Science Sentinel magazine, The Christian Science Journal, and the chapter entitled Fruitage in Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
- All of these are available in the Christian Science Reading Room.
- Wednesday Evening Testimony Meetings include accounts of healings and experiences and remarks on Christian Science.
- Christian Science Practioners, who dedicate their full time to spiritual healing, can be called for information about healing or help through prayer. They are listed by country, state, and city in the back of The Christian Science Journal which is published monthly.
- Christian Science lectures are sponsored by our, and other, Christian Science branch churches each year for the public. If you would like to be informed of these instructive talks on healing please refer to our page on Special Events.
- Our church maintains a Christian Science Reading Room in the heart of Vista. There, you can speak with an attendant about questions you may have on spiritual healing, as well as read, borrow, or purchase Christian Science literature.
